Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 18



KATHMANDU: Nepal has reported two new COVID-19 deaths taking the tally to 18 on Saturday.

Health Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said two people had died in the last 24 hours.

According to Dr. Gautam, a five-year-old boy from Bara and another man from Parsa died of coronavirus.

The report of a 25-year-old man from Birgunj in Parsa found dead was positive, he said. After the body was found on Wednesday, his swab was examined at Narayani Hospital.

Spokesperson Gautam informed that his swab report came positive on Friday.

Similarly, a five-year-old boy of Nijgadh Municipality-6 of Bara has also died due to coronavirus.

The report of the child admitted to Birgunj Health Care Hospital on Friday due to high fever was positive in a test carried out at Narayani Hospital.

Spokesperson Gautam informed that the child had passed away before his report arrived.
