Indian PM Modi says lockdown 4.0 will have new rules



NEW DELHI: India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the fourth phase of the lockdown in the country will be different than the first three phases.

PM Modi said so while addressing the nation on Tuesday evening.

He said that the fourth phase of the nationwide lockdown will be completely different in form and rules.

According to him, the restrictions and relaxations for the fourth phase will be announced before May 18 after taking into consideration states’ recommendations.

He also announced a special economic package of Rs 20 lakh crore (nearly 10 per cent of India’s GDP).

The current lockdown comes to an end on May 17 in India.
