KATHMANDU: The task of measuring the world’s highest peak Mt Everest has been completed.
The mission of gauging the third pole had started two years ago. The Survey Department has said the data processing is underway and it has reached the final phase.
Holding an international conference, the Department had said that it would announce the height Mt Everest but cancelled it due to the coronavirus pandemic, said Damodar Dhakal, Information Officer at the Department.
Prior to measuring the third pole, the Department had held an international conference for garnering ideas from the experts. Representatives from China, India, America, Bangladesh, New Zealand and the UK had participated in the conference.
Nepal is announcing the current height of Mt Everest soon.
