DoT issues 27 permits for winter ascents

KATHMANDU: The Department of Tourism (DoT) has issued expedition permits for winter ascents to 27 members representing five teams so far.

The DoT said while it has issued climbing permits for five climbers to summit Mt Everest, two climbers have obtained expedition permits for Mount Rokpai.

Likewise, five climbers have obtained permits to climb Mount Nuptse, and 15 members to climb Mount Amadablam this winter.

The DoT has so far collected a total of Rs 1.6 million in expedition royalty.
