Kathmandu private hospitals found charging tourists exorbitantly

KATHMANDU: It has been found that private hospitals in Kathmandu have been charging tourists exorbitantly.

Following complaints from tourists for overcharging, Ministry for Health and Population had formed a team to investigate.

The team found out that the hospitals have been charging tourists exorbitantly under different titles and subtitles for medical services.

“Tourists were found to be charged under different titles and subtitles. It was found that unnecessary medical tests were performed on them,” states the report.

But, the government has failed to take action as per the findings made by the team, media reports said on Sunday.
