KATHMANDU: The National Unity Day is being observed today by organizing various programs across the country to mark the 298th birth anniversary of late king Prithivi Narayan Shah, the unifier of modern Nepal.

On the occasion of the Day and the Prithivi Jayanti to be organized by the Nepal Academy, people from various walks of life would gather at the western gate of Singha Durbar, garland life-size statue of Prithivi Narayan Shah and recite his contributions.

Similarly, on the occasion, Nepal Army (NA) is scheduled to garland late king Shah’s statue on the premises of the NA Headquarters.

Likewise, Rastriya Prajatantra Party will organize a tea reception at Nepal Police Club at the exhibition road.
