Dashrathchand municipality decides to open schools from Sunday

BAITADI: Schools at the Dashrathchand municipality are to open from Sunday.

The schools here have remained closed since November 27 due to a latest lockdown enforced by the local government, owing to a rise in COVID-19 cases

Municipality deputy mayor Meena Chand said the municipal executive meeting had decided to open schools which have remained closed for long due to the COVID-19 crisis. ‘’Teaching learning activities have been affected by the closure of schools for long, and we have prepared to open schools,’’ she said.

Municipality education coordinator Mohan Nath said it was agreed to resume school activities from December 13 by sticking to the subsisting school operation guidelines. “Safety measures against the disease will be followed as the infection risk exists,” he added.

However, the respective school management committee can close school in coordination with the respective ward office if the COVID-19 risks further increases in school’s service sector.

So far 136 coronavirus cases have been diagnosed in the municipality and the number of active cases is 38.
