Hearing Committee endorses names of proposed ambassadors



KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) on Thursday endorsed the names of three Nepali ambassadors.

The government on October 1 had picked former Finance Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada as Nepali ambassador for the USA, former Chief Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi for the UK, and Dr. Nirmal Kumar Bishwakarma for South Africa.

Now, they will be appointed as ambassadors by President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

The PHC had invited the complainants against them on November 1. Three complaints had been registered against Khatiwada, one complaint against Regmi while no complaints were filed against Bishwakarma.
