One dies in police custody



DHANGADHI: A person of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-14 died in police custody on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Amar Bahadur Chand of approximately 45 years of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-14, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Pratik Bista.

Police from Border Police Post, Bahuliya, had taken Chand under control early morning on Wednesday and kept him in custody after he went around threatening to kills locals and his relatives under the influence of alcohol, according to the National News Agency.

Chand was found dead in a toilet, Bista said adding that he had a deep injury in his neck and police also found a blade from the incident site.

The body has been kept at Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi for post-mortem. Further investigation into the case is underway.
