Let’s spend constituency development fund in fight against COVID-19: Shrestha



KATHMANDU: National Assembly Member and Member of ruling Nepal Communist Party’s Secretariat, Narayan Kaji Shrestha has demanded to utilize the fund allocated to each Member of Parliament as the Constituency Development Fund by depositing it in the relief fund for COVID-19.

Regarding the fund allocated to the MP’s as unnecessary and undue, he has asked the government not to allocate any money under that heading.

Shrestha, who is also the spokesperson of the ruling party, has urged the government to use the fund distributed under constituency development fund in relief fund.

The government has been allocating Rs 30 million rupees to each MP under the development fund heading.

The office of the Auditor General, the financial auditing body has been suggesting the government not to allocate any budget under that heading as the fund is found being misused every year.
