Considering the difficulties the students living in rent are facing, the Prevention Treatment and Coordination Committee is planning to arrange for the home-going of hundreds of students trapped in the district headquarter due to the sudden lockdown enforced all over the country.

Som Nath Portel the coordinator of the committee informed that there are more than 350 students from different districts living and studying in Jhapa.

“We are working to arrange for their safe home-going as that makes them feel safer and happier,” Portel said.

He informed that the committee has been working to ensure uniformity in relief distribution in the district. To ensure uniformity the committee has formed an all-party mechanism in each ward of the municipalities and rural municipalities in the districts.

According to Portel, in the relief fund established by 15 local levels in Jhapa there is already 502.2 million rupees. They have used the fund to distribute relief stuff to the needy family.
