3 held for trafficking in illegal drugs in ambulance

BHARATPUR: Police have arrested three people for their involvement in trafficking in illegal drugs in an ambulance in Chitwan district.

Acting on a tip-off that the illegal drug was being transported, a team of police arrested Binod Rana Magar and Prabin Gharti during a security check at Junhal in Bharatpur Metroplitan City-2.

They had come by booking an ambulance from Nawalparasi.

Police also arrested Anjan Timalsina, the recipient of the drugs, based on the statement of the Rana Magar and Gharti.

Meanwhile, police seized 187 tablets of nitrazepam, 94 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, one liter of Corex and 40 tablets of Traumadol from their possession concealed in the vehicle.

It is said Timilsina had ordered the banned drugs from the former two. Rana and Gharti had called an ambulance impersonating themselves as sick who needed to be taken to hospital.
