Italy death toll from Coronavirus hits 18, 849

KATHMANDU: Italy, the worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has recorded the highest number of deaths with 18, 849 as of Saturday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, only 570 people died in the last 24 hours – less number of single day deaths compared to the previous days.

With 3, 951 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 147, 577. Currently, 98, 273 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the country, of which 3, 497 are critical. Meanwhile, 30, 455 have returned home after recovery.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the novel virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world as of Saturday morning.
