 A Nepali soldier in UNIFIL dies

KATHMANDU: A Nepali soldier serving under United Nations Peace Keeping Mission in Lebanon has died in an accident on Tuesday.

UNIFIL’s mission in Lebanon has issued a statement verifying the death of a Nepali peacekeeper in Lebanon. The name of the soldier is not disclosed, however, it is learnt that he had joined the mission four months back.

He had received injury on his head while carrying goods to the Nepali camp in Meiss Ej Jabal, Lebanon.

According to UNIFIL, the investigation to find out further details about the death is undergoing.

In the statement, Head of the UNIFIL Mission Force Commander, Major General Stefano Del Col has expressed his condolence towards the bereaved family.
