KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee has decided to start a procedure to conduct the hearing for the appointment of Mahendra Pandey as Nepal’s Ambassador to China.

A cabinet meeting had nominated Pandey last week. Pandey, former minister for foreign affairs, is a leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

He will replace the incumbent ambassador to China, Leela Mani Paudel.

A committee meeting held on Wednesday morning has called people to file complaints against Pandey in the next 10 days.

The committee will then summon Pandey for the hearing.
