Three die in separate accidents

TANAHUN: Two persons died when a tractor skidded off the road and fell some 150 meters at Korikha of Bandipur in Tanahun on Wednesday morning, police said.

The deceased have been identified as tractor driver Prem Kumal of Palungtar municipality in Gorkha district and his helper Raj Kumar Pariyar of Bandipur rural municipality.

The vehicle — Ga 1 Ta 4808 — was heading toward Yampa from Bandipur when it met with the accident.

Meanwhile, in Nawalparasi, a pedestrian died when a Bolero jeep hit him near Janak Secondary School on the East-West highway at Gaindakot at 2.45 am today.

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Gyan Bahadur Kunwar of Palungtar municipality-10, Gorkha.

Seriously injured Kunwar breathed his last at Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur in course of treatment.

The jeep — Na3 Cha2261 — carrying vegetables, was heading toward Butwal from Chitwan when it knocked down Kunwar.

Police have impounded the jeep and arrested its driver Chandra Bahadur Chepang of Benighat rural municipality for necessary action.
