29,000 children to be immunized against measles, rubella in Tanahun



TANAHUN: Immunization against measles and rubella will be administered to around 29,000 children in Tanahun district.

In course of immunization drive beginning from 14-31 March, vaccination against measles and rubella will be administered to 28,764 children, according to the District Health Office, Tanahun.

Shanker Babu Adhikari, in-charge of district health office, Tanahun, immunization rubella, and measles will be administered to all children aged nine months to five years as part of the campaign.

According to him, the campaign will be conducted in the district in two phases. The first phase of the campaign will be put in place in 27 wards from 14-23 March and the second phase will be in effect from 24-31 March.

The first phase will be effective in Shyamgha, Kartikechaur, Satiswara, Gajure, Risti, Durlegaunda, Khairenitar, Dhorfirdi, Firfire, Raipur, Thaprek, Bhanumati, Arunodaya, Kihun, Majhkot, Jyamruk, Rupakot, Chisapani, Sabhunghatiya, Ghiring, Gajarkot, Ranipokhari, Ramjakot and Kotdurbar. The second phase will be in place at Ghansikuwa, Pokharibhanjyang, Keshabtar, Tanahunsur, Purandihi, Basantapur, Purkot, Bandipur, Dharampani, Deurali, Chhimkeswori, Tharpu, Jamune, Manpang, Sinchyanggadhi, Baidi, Chhipchhipe, Kota, Kahunshivapur and Bhirkot.

As many as 530 immunization centers and 204 immunizers have been designated to administer the service. Likewise, 1,060 volunteers will be mobilized for the service.
