Pakistan mosque blast claims 14 including police officer

ISLAMABAD: At least 14 people including one senior police officer died in an explosion that occurred at a mosque in Pakistan on Friday evening.

The bombing, which took place in the city of Quetta, also injured another 20 worshipers during Friday evening prayers, the Associated Press reported.

Authorities believe the slain police officer was likely the target of the attack, while there have been no immediate claims of responsibility.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has condemned the attack vowed to bring the criminal to book at the earliest.

The unsettled southwestern province of Balochistan is home to separatist unrest and has experienced scores of attacks and bombings in recent years.
