KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the ongoing post-quake reconstruction activities run by the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) are satisfactory.
Attending the 5th Consultation Council meeting of the NRA in the capital city on Friday, PM Oli, also is also the Chair of the Council, directed the authority to complete the remaining tasks soon.
PM Oli also urged the NRA to keep the proper record of activities and maintain the archive, incorporating the skills and experiences gained during the distribution of relief materials and launch of the reconstruction projects following the 2015 earthquake in the country.
He shared that the international community and donor agencies were appreciating Nepal for effectively forwarding the reconstruction projects.
The NRA has planned to organize an international level seminar to share the reconstruction experiences to the world community.
Chief Executive Officer of NRA, Sushil Gyawali, said a base for safe Nepal was created; earthquake resistant development and technology transferred; and reconstruction and new settlement made on the basis of need.
Similarly, he claimed that transparency was maintained in grant distribution. With the activities conducted under the NRA, the local communities’ confidence was boosted and local levels involved and showed ownership in the reconstruction activities.
The meeting was also attended by former prime ministers Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal, Vice-Chairman of the Consultation Council, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, and ministers, among others.
