SC to hear Gautam’s case against appointment as NA member today

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) is hearing the case against the appointment of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Vice-chairman Bam Dev Gautam as National Assembly (NA) today.

The constitutional bench of the SC will continue today after gap of over a month.

The constitutional bench including Chief Justice Cholendra Shumaher Rana, and Justices Hari Krishna Karki, Dipak Kumar Karki, Bishwambhar Shrestha and Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada, is hearing the case since September 30.

It should be noted that the constitutional bench conducts hearings on Wednesday and Friday only.

A bench of Justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai had on September 23 sent the petition filed by senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi to the bench.

It had then issued an interim order to halt the implementation of the decision to make Gautam as NA member.
