CCMC proposes 15 days holiday for govt offices during Dashain

KATHMANDU: With the stunning widespread of coronavirus pandemic in the country, the government is mulling over closing all government offices from Ghatasthapana, the first day of Dashain to Kojagrat Purnima, the last day of Dashain i.e. October 17 to October 31.

According to the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) sources, a meeting of the Center has suggested offering a holiday of 15 days during Dashain festival to keep both the bureaucrats and the beneficiaries safe from the pandemic.

The Cabinet meeting scheduled for Monday is likely to make a formal decision on the issue.

Every day dozens of offices are shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic cases among the staffers there.
