KATHMANDU: Senior leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Madhav Kumar Nepal has presented himself aggressively at the ongoing Standing Committee meeting of the party at Baluwatar.

At the meeting, leader Nepal stressed on the need to follow the party rules and regulations and expressed his dissatisfaction over the 15-point proposal brought by Chairman KP Oli and Prachanda, said a standing committee member.

Leader Nepal’s main dissatisfaction was for not including the provision of one-person-one-post in the proposal. He has been calling the party’s leadership to embrace the condition since long.

“Why isn’t the subject covered in the proposal? How can a party function without rules and regulations?” leader Nepal questioned.

Meanwhile, nine Standing Committee members have aired their views of the proposal by the Chairman duo so far.

The SC meeting which had started since June 24 had been hit after the Dahal-Nepal camp demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Oli from both of his posts (on July 28).

The intra-party feud of the NCP has thawed following the formation of a task-force to iron out differences in the party.

Party insiders say Dahal and Oli have agreed to refrain from involving in intra-party conflicts, which means that they have resolved the misunderstanding and the conflict surrounding their roles within the party.

The agreement between the two top leaders also includes convening the party’s general convention from 7th April-12th April 2021.

They have also agreed to hold a meeting of the central committee from 3rd November-5th November to endorse the planning for the convention.
