Gandaki Pradesh reports 17 new COVID-19 cases

KATHMANDU: Seventeen coronavirus cases have been reported in Gandaki Pradesh on Friday morning.

According to the Ministry of Social Development of Gandaki Pradesh, two people (a 62-year-old man and 26-year-old woman) from Pokhara Metropolitan City are among those infected.

Similarly, 12 infected are from Nawalparasi, two from Syangja and eight from Tanahun Sukla Gandaki.

Four infected are from Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences while the rest were confirmed through contact tracing, said Dr Binod Bindu Sharma, the spokesperson for COVID-19 Control and Prevention Program of Gandaki Pradesh.

With this, the number of coronavirus cases in Gandaki Pradesh has reached 2,747.

Currently, 911 are undergoing treatment at various isolation centers of their respective districts while 1,814 have returned home after treatment. Similarly, 22 people have died from coronavirus.
