Trinbago Knight Riders bags CPL 2020 title



KATHMANDU: Trinbago Knight Riders has lifted the trophy of the Caribbean Premier League 2020 by defeating St Lucia Zouks by eight wickets.

Trinbago won all the 12 matches from the league to the final held under the eight season of the PCL.

Chasing the 155-run target set by Zouks, Trinbago reached the target in 18.1 overs by losing two wickets in the final match held at Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Lendl Simmons top-scored with 84 runs for Trinbago to win the title and remained unbeaten. Similarly, Darren Bravo made 58 runs.

Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, St Lucia Zouks had notched up 154 runs in 19.1 overs losing all wickets.  Zouks’ Andre Fletcher made 39 runs while Mark Deyal contributed 29 runs.

In reply, Trinbago’s Keiron Pollard took four wickets of St Lucia while Ali Khan and Fawad Ahmed took two wickets each.
