9 jailbirds, 2 policemen at District Prison in Saptari test positive for coronavirus



SAPTARI: Nine jailbirds and two police personnel deployed at the District Prison House in Saptari district have tested positive for coronavirus.

With this, the number of infected jailbirds in the district has reached 15.

Similarly, a staff nurse and a sweeper have tested positive for the virus at the Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital while two more individuals from Rajbiraj Municipality also tested positive for the virus.

So far, the total number of infected in the district has reached 991 while eight persons succumbed to the virus, the Hospital’s Acting Medical Superintendent Dr Ranajit Kumar Jha said.

Altogether, 682 persons in the district got victory over the virus.
