Qatar Charity, Islamic Relief distribute medical supplies to 80 quarantines

KATHMANDU: Qatar Charity and Islamic Relief have completed distribution of medical supplies and sanitation program at 80 quarantine centers of four districts of the Tarai region.

According to Project of Qatar Charity, Nepal, the health materials used to prevent coronavirus infection were distributed to 20 quarantines each in Sarlahi, Rautahat, Banke and Bardiya districts.

Manager of the project, Ishad Ali Sheikh, said that health materials used to prevent coronavirus were distributed to 10,550 people staying in quarantine and personal hygiene materials to 1,000 women.

Eighty toilets and 92 handwash stations were also constructed under COVID-19 Resilience Capacity Strengthening Program jointly launched by Charity and Islamic Relief.

Similarly, water purifying liquid, bucket, mug as well as other things were also distributed to those staying in quarantines, he added.

Awareness programs to prevent and control coronavirus were also broadcasted in different FM and television stations of Banke, Bardiya, Sarlahi and Rautahat districts under the program.

The Qatar Charity involved in social service in Nepal for the past three years is the largest non-government office of Arab Countries.
