Lockdown clamped in Kapilvastu after coronavirus spreads to community level



KAPILVASTU: District Administration Office, Kapilvastu has imposed lockdown in the district effective from 5 am today after the COVID-19 cases spread to the community level.

A district security committee meeting chaired by Chief District Office (CDO) Narayan Paudel took a decision to this effect.

With 858 confirmed cases already, the DAO has imposed the lockdown saying that the coronavirus cases surged up, making the situation more adverse.

According to a notice issued by the DAO, the lockdown will remain effective until August 16 (11:59 pm).

With the lockdown in effect, the district headquarters Taulihawa and major market areas including Krishnagar, Banganga have been closed down.

All the services except for essential ones will remain shut during the lockdown.

Except for fire engines, ambulances, dairy and water supply vehicles, hearses, others vehicles including both private and public will be  restricted during the lockdown.

People can buy daily essentials, i.e., vegetables and food stuffs between 8 to 10 am, said DAO.
