TU VC’s office room vandalized



KATHMANDU: An irate group of protesters aligned with Nepal Student Union (NSU), the student wing of Nepali Congress,  vandalized the office room of Vice Chancellor Dharma Kanta Baskota on Tuesday morning.

Spokesperson for Tribhuvan University (TU) Surya Adhikari informed that a group of 10 to 15 student leaders came to the office room and vandalized it this morning.

NSU, TU Committee leader Hari Acharya has admitted that some cadres and student leaders resorted to vandalism in the course of demonstration.

The window pane of the office of the VC and other two vehicles have sustained damages in the incident, said Spokesperson Adhikari.

NSU and Democratic Professors Association of Nepal have been demonstrating calling for transparency in the appointment of office bearers and selection of staffers in TU.
