Leaders discuss detailed work plan to ease lockdown



KATHMANDU:  High Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 is holding a meeting at Baluwatar to finalize a detailed work plan in line with the cabinet decision.

A cabinet meeting held on Wednesday evening decided to ease the lockdown.   .

The team including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwar Pokharel, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Minister for Heath and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal , Chief  Secretary Lok Dharshan Regmi are holding talks at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.

“The High Level Coordination Committee is holding talks on the detailed work plan including the problems and solutions that will crop up in the course of easing the lockdown,” a source at the Ministry of Defense said.

The meeting is expected to come up with the detailed work plan by Thursday evening, according to the source.

The government has decided to ease the lockdown prior to the expiry of the lockdown extended for the sixth time after the people in general started defying it calling for relaxation.

The ongoing lockdown is expiring on June 14.
