Police official held with bribe during lockdown



KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested a police official while he was receiving bribe at an eatery based in Katahari rural municipality in Morang district.

Acting on a tip-off, an anti-graft body arrested Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Sita Ram Ghimire with Rs 4,000 in bribe.

According to the CIAA, Ghimire of District Police Office, Morang had been intimidating the owner of the restaurant and having snacks free of cost for a long time.

Fed up with Ghimire, the restaurant owner hand filed a complaint at the CIAA.

The anti-graft body arrested Ghimire on Thursday morning and is investigation the case.
