300 migrant Nepali women returning home today from Kuwait



KATHMANDU: As many as 300 migrant Nepali women living in Kuwait are returning Nepal in two aircraft.

According to the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the planes from Jazeera Airways carrying those migrant Nepalis will land in Kathmandu at 11:30 am and 1:30 am respectively.

The Nepali Army will take them to the holding centers as per the province after landing at the TIA.

After undergoing health check-up at the holding centers, those wishing to stay in the hotel quarantine will be sent to the hotel while people wanting to return to their homes will be sent to the respective quarantines in coordination with the concerned province and local level.

They will have to stay in the quarantine set up by the government for at least 14 days.

Kuwait had proposed to the Government of Nepal to send Nepalis back by two daily flights at its own expense so that they could return home without penalty.

There are 2,991 Nepalis in temporary camps and deportation centers in Kuwait. Out of them, 1,688 are males and 1,303 are females.

According to the Kuwaiti government, at least 20 flights are being prepared to repatriate all Nepalis to Nepal.
