DHANGADHI: The State Assembly of Sudurpaschim State has endorsed with majority a resolution to claim Nepal’s encroached territories, Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulek, protect country’s integrity and resolve the issue through diplomatic talks.

The proposal was put at the meeting by leader of ruling Nepal Communist Party Gelbu Singh Bohara and main opposition Nepali Congress’s leader Karna Bahadur Malla and seconded by NCP’s Lal Bahadur Khadka, NC’s Bharat Bahadur Khadka and Rastriya Janata Party’s Malamati Kumari Rana Tharu.

Attending SA members drew the attention of the state government to take back the encroached land through diplomatic means as Nepal has enough evidences and facts to claim these lands.

Thanking the federal government for issuing Nepal’s political map incorporating these encroached lands, they stated that all Nepalis are committed to safeguarding country’s national unity and geographical integrity.

They also demanded that the government brings plans to provide security to the residents of the encroached lands and for the holistic development of these areas.
