NC leader Thapa urges govt to act against Indian encroachment

KATHMANDU: Leader of the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, Gagan Thapa has urged the government to deal with India with full audacity to bring back the country’s encroached land.

Speaking at the parliamentary session on Sunday, leader Thapa said Nepal should have the guts to say that it will not let an inch of Nepal’s land to anybody in any way.

He also questioned the motive of the visit by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwor Pokhrel in Kalapani-Lipulekh.

He queried, “What did the Defense Minister do after his visit to the area?” He further asked whether he briefed the government about the situation there or not. “What is the government waiting for?” he asked.

“I am not surprised to say that Minister Pokhrel’s visit to Lipu Lekh was nothing nut a religious tour”, he expressed sarcasm.
