All coronavirus-infected Nepalis in Australia recover

AUSTRALIA: According to the Canberra-based Nepalese Embassy in Australia, the corona infected Nepalis have recovered returned to their normal life.

According to the Embassy, 4 Nepali students in Sydney and 3 in Melbourne were found COVID-19 positive two weeks before. All of them were in self-quarantine and now their latest reports have shown them corona-negative.

“We have good news that all Nepalis who were found coronavirus infected have recovered and returned to their normal life,” Mahesh Raj Dahal, Nepal’s ambassador to Australia said.

According to the Embassy, there are nearly 120 thousand Nepalis in Australia. “Now all Nepalis in Australia have no coronavirus,” ambassador Dahal revealed happily.

Dahal said that he has been coordinating with honorary consuls and NRN Australia to get the latest updates about the situations.

Earlier, one Nepali in Tasmania was found coronavirus positive, but later he, too, had recovered.

“As Australia government’s measures have proved effective so far, there is a little chance for COVID-19’s recurrence here,” ambassador Dahal said, “however, all Nepalis should abide by the directives of the government here.”

There are 54 thousand Nepali students in Australia.

Hemanta Kafle, the President of the Australian Nepalese Journalists’ Association(ANJA)  advises the authority to help the students on a priority basis as not everyone there were in need of relief package.

He suggested the Embassy work out diplomatic and long term solutions for the problems related with the student’s fee and rent among many others.

Out of more than 6200 cases in Australia, 54 have lost their lives and 3141 have recovered. Despite the receding instances of new cases, the number of dead ones seems to increase as the number of people in critical condition is still high. 3 persons died on Friday alone.
