NC will help govt in fighting COVID-19 pandemic: Sharma

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party, has expressed its readiness to support the government in the capacity of the opposition in its endeavor to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Party spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said his party would not walk away when it comes to extending help to the government in the current situation.

Sharma, however, the government should continue to do the work.

The NC, however, is least bothered to form a high-level political mechanism to combat the pandemic at a time when the government and opposition parties are on the same path when it comes to combating coronavirus.

Spokesperson Sharma’s opinion comes at a time when a Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dhahal floated the idea of forming a high-level mechanism.

NC, Sharma claimed, has always been supportive in this regard. He, however, said that his party will continue to raise its voice against irregularities and corruption.
