Courts across country to remain closed until April 18

KATHMANDU: All the courts across the country will remain closed until April 18.

Issuing a statement on Friday, the Supreme Court (SC) said the courts will be closed till the date.

The decision comes after the government extended the lockdown enforced as a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Earlier, the apex court had decided to close regular functioning until April 10.

A full court of the apex court decided to resume normal operation three days after the lockdown is lifted saying that necessary managerial works will be needed to be done.

The SC, however, stated that works for filing charge sheets, bail hearing, recording statement and extending judicial custody, have resumed from today.
