101-year-old recovers from Covid-19 in UK



KATHMANDU: A 101-year-old man has recovered from Covid-19,  becoming the oldest person in the United Kingdom to beat the deadly virus.

Keith Watson, who was being treated at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, Worcestershire, was discharged after a two-week battle with the deadly illness.

The recovery of Watson from the novel virus has given a ray of hope to the elderly who have been the hardest-hit across the globe.

According to Worldometer, the death toll from the novel virus has reached 7, 978 in the UK after 881 died in the last 24 hours.

With 4,344 new cases, the number of infection cases has climbed to 65, 077.  Currently, 56, 964 people are undergoing treatment at various hospital, of which 1, 559 are critical.

Meanwhile,  135 have returned after recovery.
