Minister urged to take effective measures against COVID-19

KATHMANDU: The National Youth Association, Nepal has submitted a memorandum to Minister for Health and Population Bhanubhakta Dhakal seeking precautions against the COVID-19 from the part of the government.

Association’s Chairman Ram Prasad Sapkota ‘Deepsikha’ submitted an 8-point memo to Minister Dhakal for adopting precaution measures.

Receiving the memo, Minister Dhakal said that the government has made enough preparations to stop the possible spread of coronavirus in Nepal.

In the memo, the government is asked to issue authentic information in all the media outlets about the coronavirus and to make health desks effective in the airports and border points as well as put all inbound passengers from the coronavirus pneumonia affected countries in quarantine.

The Association has also drawn the attention of the minister to ensure quality health care system for the treatment of coronavirus pneumonia and name a temporary corona focal hospital with the management of isolation wards.

Furthermore, the Association has demanded that effective measures be taken for the accessible supplies of daily essentials and additional materials including medical supplies needed in the context of coronavirus outbreak.
