Engineer, ward member caught with bribe



TANAHUN: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested two persons with bribe.

A CIAA team deployed from Pokhara arrested engineer Sukhdev Adhikari and ward member Krishna Bahadur Adhikari of Bhanu Municipality of the district on Monday.

They had received Rs 75,000 kickback from a service seeker for providing a work conclusion certificate for the construction of a school building.

Adhikari is a ward member of Bhanu-13.

The duo was arrested from the premises of the municipality office, CIAA said, adding that further investigation was underway.
