Nepal deports 638 foreigners this fiscal so far

KATHMANDU: Nepal has deported 638 foreigners in the six months of the current fiscal year.

According to the Department of Immigration, most of those deported were involved in criminal activities in Nepal after arriving on a tourist visa.

The department states that most of them 549 foreigners were deported for overstay.

Likewise, eight were deported for banking crime, four for fake visas and three for counterfeit notes among others.

Foreigners were also deported for their involvement in drugs peddling, gold smuggling, holding arms and ammunitions, hundi transactions and human trafficking among other crimes.
