KATHMANDU: Newly appointed chief information commissioner and information commissioners of National Information Commission took the oath of office and secrecy amid a program here on Thursday.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli administered the oath of office and secrecy to chief information commissioner Mahendra Man Gurung and commissioners Kamala Oli and Dipak Mainali.
They assumed office today itself, said Babu Raja Shrestha, information officer at the National Information Commission. Term of chief information commissioner and information commissioners is five years.
Gurung replaced Krishna Hari Baskota, while Oli and Mainali replaced Kiran Pokharel and Yashoda Timilsina, whose term expired on Wednesday.
Present on the occasion were Deputy Speaker Dr Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe, Vice Chairperson of the National Commission Prof Dr Pushpa Raj Kandel, secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Dipak Subedi and secretary of the information commission Maniram Ojha.
