Cabinet promotes DIG Pokharel to AIG

KATHMANDU: The government has promoted Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Nepal Police Bishworaj Pokharel to Additional Inspector General (AIG).

A meeting of the Council of Minister held on Thursday evening decided to that effect, according to a Cabinet minister.

A meeting of the promotion recommendation committee chaired by Home Secretary Maheshwar Neupane at the Home Ministry had recommended Pokharel for promotion to AIG.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Home had added additional quotas for the Additional Inspector General (AIG) and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Nepal Police.

The decision was made as per the decision of the Council of Ministers.

According to the decision, one quota for AIG and five quotas for DIG were added.
