TANAHUN: Workers at the Tanahun Hydroelectricity Project have called off their strike. The workers were on strike since Friday calling for conducting a PCR test on them.

The project is under construction at Jhaputar of Hrishing rural municipality-1 in Tanahu district.

The workers mobilized by Sino Hydro under the second package of the Project had launched agitation calling for conducting their and their family members’ PCR tests and providing them with services and facilities while they stayed in quarantine until their PCR test reports were out.

The strike was called off after an agreement was reached during discussions among the Project, the construction company and the workers to conduct the PCR tests, Sino Hydro Workers Union coordinator Ashish Shrestha said.
