Health Ministry unveils health protocols for festivals



KATHMANDU: The government has made public the health protocols for celebrating this year’s festivals.

The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that action will be taken against the person as per the Infectious Diseases Act, 2020, if the health protocols are breached.

The ministry has asked not to distribute offerings and prasad (the material substance of food that is a religious offering) during Dashain and other fairs and festivals.

The ministry has said that only one member of the family should participate in the program, and the organizers should distribute the offerings at home as far as possible.

The ministry has stated that one should not meet anyone other than the same family and keep a distance of two meters.

 It has been requested to celebrate the festivals only with the family members as far as possible.

Urging devotees not to touch the idols of gods and goddesses, the ministry has requested not to spit in public places.

It is mentioned in the criteria that the electronic medium should be used as far as possible for financial transactions.
