DOHA: Kuwaiti police have arrested eight Nepali nationals on the charge of producing and selling liquor in Kuwait.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Ahmadi security officials led by Security Director General Major General Saleh raided three apartments in Mahboula district on the Persian Gulf, 36 kilometers south of Kuwait City, and arrested them.

A large number of bottles and utensils used to prepare alcohol were seized during the raid, said Kuwaiti police.

The seized hooch has been destroyed in the presence of the municipality officials.

Only two days ago, Kuwaiti police had arrested four Nepali people including two women from Jabriya area in Hawalli Governorate in Kuwait.
