Gandaki Pradesh reports 49 new COVID-19 cases



POKHARA: Forty-nine additional cases have been reported in Gandaki Pradesh on Thursday morning.

The new cases were confirmed during tests at the laboratory of Regional Tuberculosis Center, Pokhara this morning.

Among those infected, 19 are from Kaski, 12 from Syangja, nine from Baglung, five from Nawalparasi East, three from Tanahun and one from Parbat.

A 23-year-old infected woman of Pokhara Metropolitan City-15 is a nurse at Paschimanchal Community Hospital, Pokhara while a 50-year-old male is undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

Similarly, a 22-year-old man of Pokhara-19 and 28-year-old male from Parbat are police officials. Likewise, a 51-year-old woman from Baglung is undergoing treatment at Fewa City Hospital while the others are foreign returnees.

According to the Ministry of Social Development of Gandaki Pradesh, the newly infected have been confirmed through contact tracing.

With this, the number of infection cases has reached 2,728 in Gandaki Province.

Meanwhile, 1,806 people have recovered while 22 have died from the virus in the province so far.
