Vehicles start operating on odd-even rule in capital from today



KATHMANDU:  With some relaxations on the prohibitory order, the movement of vehicles has increased in the Kathmandu Valley from today (Thursday) .

The vehicles have started operating on odd and even rules from today after the government relaxed the restriction yesterday. Security personnel have taken action against those vehicles plying the roads without following the odd and even rules in some places.

Taxis are also in operation starting today after the government allowed them to run with not more than three people including a driver.

Groceries, vegetable shops and dairies have been allowed to operate until 11 am in the morning and from 5 to 7 pm in the evening.

Similarly, departmental stores, electrical shops stationaries, street vendors have also been permitted to open until 11 am in the Kathmandu Valley and 4 to 7 in the evening. This relaxation on the restriction will remain effective until September 16.

The prohibitory order which had been imposed since August 19 has been relaxed from today.
