KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has called a meeting of the cabinet this evening to discuss the increasing threat of the coronavirus pandemic of late.

The meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s official residence at 5 pm on Monday will discuss ways out to control the COVID-19 pandemic, which has so far claimed 78 lives.

Today’s meeting is likely to discuss measures to control the pandemic threat, which was on the rise as public were not abiding by the safety measures and protocols decided by the government.

It may be noted that the Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) had on Sunday decided to increase the number of isolation centers and quarantine facilities in the country.

It had also decided to increase the isolation wards and quarantine facilities across the country in coordination with the local levels.

Today’s cabinet meeting is also likely to postpone its previous decision of operating air service and long-route vehicles from August 17, and taking admissions in the schools.
