NRB issues directives to let bank staffers offer service from home



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank, the  monetary, regulatory and supervisory authority of banks and financial institutions of Nepal, has directed all banks and financial institutions to ensure their staffers provided the service from home so that both the customers and service providers can minimize the chances of coronavirus pandemic transmission.

Citing the alarming increase in the coronavirus cases, the central bank has written to all banks and financial institutions to ensure that the staffs provide service from home as far as possible.

NRB has instructed all banks and financial institutions to provide services in shift so that there will be no crowd or big number of service providers or even the beneficiaries.

The central bank has also requested all to abide by the health safety standards set by the government.

NRB had asked the banks and financial institutions to make conducive environment to work from home.

However, the bank and financial institutions have already made the staffers work from office claiming the coronavirus threat is gradually calming down.

NRB has drawn the attention of all banks and financial institutions to encourage the customers to carry out electronic transactions.
