SC nullifies government’s notice to pay tax



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has nullified the government’s directives to the people to pay taxes within the stipulated timeframe.

The government had earlier asked people to pay taxes by June 21.

Responding to a writ filed by advocates Srijana Adhikari, a joint bench of justices Anil Sinha and Manoj Sharma issued the interim order to the government nullifying the its notice about the tax as mentioned in the writ petition.

The SC’s written verdict is yet to be publicized.
